Internet Marketing – 5 Tips to Get You Going

If you are thinking of starting up an online Internet Marketing business, I am going to give you 5 things that are very important in your start up.

1 - Decide on what you want to do.

It's always best to do something that you enjoy, like hobbies, pastimes etc. Sit down with a pen and paper and make a list of 10 or so things that interest you. Once you have done that, go to Google and do a search for them, adding forums at the end, for example 'dog training forums'. This will let you know how many people are interested in your 'business' with the amount of people on the forums.

2 - Get a Mentor

I did virtually nothing in internet marketing until I found myself a good Mentor, finding someone who has 'been there and got the tee-shirt', they usually have a proven blueprint of how to be successful online, but most importantly you have always got their support, and most of them do not charge huge sums of money to coach you.

3 - Follow only ONE plan at first

The advice I always give is stick to one thing at a time until you've conquered it. I spent a small fortune getting the 'latest thing', and it never works. Listen to your Mentors advice and follow along step-by-step, remember you should be in it for the long term, not the short. Take everything at the pace that you want, everyone learns at different speeds, so don't rush it.

4 - Focus, Focus, Focus

One of the main reasons for failing in business is losing focus, you really need to take things one step at a time, until you fully understand it, you are better having laser focus as opposed to shotgun focus. Remember to give 100% attention to the thing you are doing, instead of trying to do a dozen things at once; it will then be better all round.

5 - Rinse and repeat

Once you have got the hang of things and feel confident to try it on your own, just follow what you have been taught by your mentor and take action. Without the action, nothing happens. All you need to do then, once you have got your 'blueprint' is do the same thing over and over again.

So, the 5 steps to Internet Marketing goes something like this, discover what it is you want to do, grab yourself a mentor, you can often get these recommended from the forums you have visited, follow just the one system until you get used to it, stay totally focused on the task in hand, and then once you feel confident to go it alone, do as you have been taught, then repeat it over and over again.
