The other day, I was talking to a friend who has a very cool business. Lots of customers, lots going on, very profitable.
He just has one annoying problem: He’s had a really hard time finding strong writers.
He tried a bunch who have a decent knack for putting words together, but not much understanding of business strategy, so he spent hours (that he does not have) explaining basic copywriting techniques.
The other bunch he tried are strategic ninjas. Also rock stars, gurus, and warriors. The ones who “sell ice to Eskimos.” Who eat powerhouse copy strategy for breakfast. Raw. Whose copy grabs you by the throat and won’t let go.
The only problem is, his customers hate that kind of copy. It doesn’t work — at all — for his audience.
“Dude, I have a whole list of writers I can recommend to you,” I told him. And there was literally a sigh of relief. He’s talking right now with some well-qualified, smart, strategic writers — the kind who don’t make everything sound like a boot camp.
You can get on that list.
These are the writers I recommend when a project needs someone who can convince without hype. It’s our list of Certified Content Marketers, and the course that leads up to getting on that list is open for registration today.
Now, taking the course doesn’t guarantee you a spot on our recommended list. Someone on our editorial team reviews every applicant carefully, to make sure they have the chops. We have to see that they’re solid — both in their writing ability and their strategic implementation.
We have no interest in creating a list of “pay to play” Certified Content Marketers, who have to pass some multiple-choice test to show they were basically paying attention to the course material.
We want to create a list of terrific writers.
Who’s a good fit for the program?
We have a few types of writers who have gotten value out of the program.
- Freelance writers who want the skills to deliver better results for their clients — and a way to get in front of the kinds of clients who are willing to pay for strong work.
- Marketing writers working for organizations, who want to know how to deliver impressive results, either to become a star in their company … or to find a better gig with a cooler company.
- Business owners who lead their own marketing, and want a proven framework so they know they’re working on the right things. Many of these folks don’t submit a Certification application, but they’re more than welcome to.
Who’s not a good fit?
Anyone who wants to “pay to play,” thinking that because they bought a course, that means they’re a solid copywriter now.
There are certifications out there that work that way. Ours doesn’t.
Registration ends Wednesday, December 13
This is a small, focused group of writers, and we like to bring them through together so they can benefit one another, and so that we can really focus on their success.
We typically open up the program once or twice a year, so we don’t get over-saturated with Certified Content Marketers. Our intention is to keep you a valued resource for great clients, not some interchangeable cog.
The sooner you get started, the sooner you can apply for your Certification, so it pays to be prompt.
And registration will close to new students on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time so we can give our newest group our full attention.
Of course, like all of our education, if you join us and decide it’s not a great fit for you, you can cancel within 30 days for a complete refund. We want to make sure this is something that truly benefits you.
A special note for our Authority community
