WooCommerce & Convert Kit GDPR Compliance Tutorials

This is going to sound like it was thrown together in a hurry, and that’s because it was. I mean, if I hear GDPR one more time…. But, seriously, it’s our responsibility as business owners to make sure we comply. So I’m sharing these WooCommerce & Convert Kit GDPR Compliance Tutorials with you today, in hopes they help you along your journey to covering all your bases. Let’s get to it!

If you automatically subscribe customers to your mailing list at checkout (I do so I can send updates to the product they purchased, for instance.) you’ll want to make sure you have a checkbox for them to acknowledge this at checkout and provide a link to your full terms/privacy policy page.

 

With WooCommerce it’s pretty simple, you’ll take the following steps:

• From your WordPress Dashboard select Appearance > Customize
• Then select WooCommerce
• Then select Checkout.
• Select your Privacy Policy and Terms of Service Pages from the dropdowns.
• Make sure you click publish to save your changes.

You’ll now have something like this on your checkout page:

If you use Convert Kit – They’ve added a really neat simple feature you can access via your account settings page. I’ve just double checked this works with the eNews Subscription Widget, so you’d be good to go for your opt-ins.
