Building a list takes time and work. To build your list, you need to attract visitors and get them to sign up on your list. Most businesses forget to market after you make a sale. Once the sale is over, you must keep marketing through different options.
One way to get people to sign up is through your marketing efforts after the initial contact. You may not realize it but every contact you have with a customer you can market to them. For instance, if a person signs up to be on your list, you can send them a 'thanks for signing up' response and suggest a product they may be interested in. Or, maybe someone bought a product from you and you are sending out a thank you page, why not include additional products that are similar that they might be interested in. You would be target marketing to them again. If they like one product, they make like another one you have for sale.
There are many times you come in contact with a customer. If they do not buy a product from you, you can email them and ask them if they would take a survey. Make it short and be sure to give a thank you special for taking the survey. It can be a special report or a check list to them. You are rewarding them for their effort and you receive the information they fill out in their survey. It becomes a win win solution for everyone all around.
These ideas are often forgotten or overlooked. But they can be powerful tools to help you grow you list through email marketing.
