Powerful Habits, Potent Engagement, and a Double Dose of Pink

Copyblogger Weekly - Powerful Habits, Potent Engagement, and a Double Dose of Pink

How’s your January going? I’ve been having a great time looking at our publishing themes and brainstorming cool new topic ideas with our editorial team. And I’m so glad you’re here starting the year with us. 🙂

This week kicked off with a discussion about habits (which are the super secret decoder rings that allow you to make all the stuff you want to make) from our Data Analyst and Motorcycle Maven, Loryn Thompson. She shared her techniques for using all of that distracting screen time wisely and in service of her goals. (And you know, sometimes, those goals include relaxing and goofing off, too.)

On Tuesday, Stefanie Flaxman explored the “Chuckle Point” — a defining moment when you realize that you want to follow someone’s content further. Want people to have that reaction to your own work? Check out the post here: Attract Better Clients and Customers with the ‘Chuckle Point’ Technique.

I talked about one of my favorite things on Wednesday — adding more artistry to our content. We’ll be talking lots about the “killer and poet” this year. And while killer tech, analytics, and strategy are important (in fact, you can learn more about them on Copyblogger FM this week), we won’t neglect your poetic side either. This post outlined seven techniques I use daily to bring more creativity and artistry to my own writing.

And it’s “Think Pink” week on the podcasts — specifically, New York Times bestselling author Daniel Pink. On The Writer Files, Kelton Reid looked at Pink’s writing processes and rituals. And on Unemployable, Brian Clark interviewed Pink about his new book, When: The Scientific Secrets of Perfect Timing.
